How Do You Know If Your Wound Is Infected?

If you have a wound then it is very important that you do everything you can to get it patched up as soon as possible. The problem with this is that even if you do have a clean wound, you still have the chance of it getting infected and this is something that you need to watch out for. Of course, the first thing that you can do is work with your local home doctor to see if they can give you the help you need.You may be able to get your wound professionally dressed and you may even be able to get some stronger anti-bacterial lotion as well. Of course, if you don’t know if you have an infection or not then there are some ways for you to be able to tell.



The first sign of an infection is inflammation. You may find that the affected area is red and you may also find that it is very puffy as well. You may notice that the wound is sore to touch around the affected area and you may also find that it is red in colour as well. If your wound is swollen then there is a high chance that you will feel heat coming off the affected site and this is a clear indication that you need to get your wound looked at.


The next thing that you need to look out for is weeping. The main reason for this is because your body is trying to fight the infection that you have it is trying to expel the infection from your body. If this is the case then you will need to clean it regularly and you will also need to change your bandages on a daily basis as well.
